I read an e-book about painting and critiquing paintings. Written by Nancy Reyner. She says you can improve your painting by asking yourself: “This painting is too…” Good suggestion!
Here is a painting I am working on. It is definitely too… something…
Is it too dull?
Is it to green-grey?
Is it too dark?
Is it too even?
Maybe all of the above.
Anyway, I thought I’d show you this phase, ’cause normally I don’t get around to making photographs until the painting’s finished. And then I’m a sorry I didn’t make pictures before.
I am planning to photograph the solutions one by one.
Dull, grey, dark and even. Sounds poetic, actually. I wrote that down on a little note and I will change them one by one.
