What’s going on? One important thing that happened this week, is that I started a first collaborative painting with the XP2020 expressionist group. Since we are an on line Behance group, we don’t physically meet, but I keep looking for ways to make it physical.
So in this experiment I painted on a loose stretch of canvas. 90 x 90 cm., taped to a frame. I tried to limit myself to about half the painting, although for eventual coherence I did add the background for the other half.
A text from Andy Warhol kept sounding in my head: “If art is the tip of the iceberg, then I’m the part sinking below”.
I rolled up the canvas and sent it by snail mail to Uw Hoche, another member of the XP2020 group. Uwe will add things and then we’ll see, maybe other XP2020 members will also add their parts. I don’t know how feasible it is to send things to places like Ukraine or Morocco by physical mail. But who knows, maybe it’s no problem at all.
I’ll keep you posted on this collaborative work.
