Unexpectedly, peace in my painting

What’s happening? Remember I was talking about artists having their ‘periods’ and the idea of creating a body of work of similar paintings? In my last post before this one?

I decided to start a body of work based on one of my latest paintings. And right off, the first one I did, I found really amazing immediately. I thought I would be doing a lot more work on it, but it was great as it was. I was amazed at how simple that process was and how quickly I finished it. And how much I loved what it resulted in. Here it is:


For the first time I (re)started as a painter, I really felt at peace with my painting. When Anneke and I were in Dusseldorf for a weekend, I did four more small watercolor drawings that all came out good. Great stuff.
